I just finished my Ph.D. and...Thanks for this post! I just finished my Ph.D. and I have also had two postdoc offers without formal interviews or job talks. The first offer did include an informal in-person interview, but for the second job I was told that I was approved for a spot on a training grant and they were looking forward to having me, but I hadn't even spoken to the PI yet! After a phone interview, it was clear that the position was mine if I wanted it and I hadn't even met these people in person yet.<br /><br />This week, I have my first "real" postdoc interview which includes a seminar and a full day of meetings with PIs and postdocs.
